There will be a kid’s zoo with balloon fun, a musical petting zoo, and magic tricks in addition to talented local performers taking the stage to perform mariachi, salsa, Latin hip hop acts and more. Thank god Cinco de Mayo is on a Thursday this year, as the California Academy of Sciences is whipping up a special celebration on their acclaimed Thursday NightLife events. For this evening, you’ll learn all about mezcal, drinking delicious cocktails crafted with the spirit around the museum, watch mixology demos by local Mexican eateries like La Urbana and Lolo, learn more about how the yucca and agave plant produce this specialty liquor, and listen to latin and tropical music spun by DJ’s.
