SF food festivals that keep us here.

Foodies abound in San Francisco, and we’re all quite proud of the culinary creations that come out of this city — so much so that we’ll celebrate them with grand revelries to satisfy our every sweet and savory whim. Honoring everything from street food to gourmet chocolate, here are San Francisco’s finest food festivals.
1. San Francisco Street Food Festival
Many of the city’s finest small food companies (over 100) land in the Dogpatch neighborhood in mid-August to set up shop and showcase some of their incredibly delectable specialties from around the world. If you can’t find anything you totally salivate over here, you may not be human.
2. Eat Drink SF
Self-proclaimed “The Best Bay Area Food and Drink Festival,” Eat Drink SF brings together the region’s finest world-class chefs and notable restaurants for four days of tasting events in late August. Grab a ticket to a Grand Tasting and get unlimited beer, wine, and cocktails, too.
3. Outside Lands Music Festival
Wait, there’s music here, too? Yep, some people pay the big-ticket price for this annual August affair just for the food, wine, coffee, cheese, and chocolate. Some of the Bay Area’s best restaurants, food trucks, and cafes bring along their finest goods for the 3-day festival. There’s also Chocolands for cupcakes, cookies, and creme brulee; Cheeselands for the lactose lovers; and Wine Lands, which features over 100 wines from the region. Good thing live music is all around you so you dance all those calories off.
4. San Francisco International Beer Festival
Going strong since 1984, this brew fest happens every May at Fort Mason. While beer lovers are able to sip on suds from over 100 breweries from around the world, food lovers have quite a few gourmet goodies to soak it all up, too.
5. Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival
Every September, chocoholics descend upon Ghirardelli Square for chocolate and wine pairings, chocolate school, chef demonstrations, and the Ghirardelli Chocolate Earthquake Ice Cream Sundae eating contest. All that cocoa will fill you with love, happiness, and antioxidants.
6. San Francisco BBQ Festival
BBQ buffs gather at The Yard at Mission Rock in mid-October for this smoky event showcasing the best in local BBQ, and even the latest in BBQ tech. Bring a few extra napkins for this one.
7. A Taste of Greece: San Francisco’s Only Greek Food Festival
Who doesn’t love Greek food? The gyros, the salads, the spanakopita, the baklava: it’s all here at the Annunciation Cathedral on Valencia Street every September.
8. Oktoberfest by the Bay
Finally you can bust out that lederhosen for this Bavarian-inspired festival held at San Francisco’s Pier 48. Enjoy German delicacies and, of course, lots of beer and good times.
9. Oysterfest
San Franciscans love their oysters so much they’ve created the largest festival on the West Coast dedicated to the slippery delicacies. Held in Golden Gate Park every May, the fest also includes live music to go along with all the slurping.
10. San Francisco Coffee Festival
To kickoff SF Coffee Week (yep, it’s a thing), this caffeinated fest in the Dogpatch will host nearly two dozen specialty roasters and coffee shops in November. And you better believe there will be some delectable snacks and treats to keep your coffee buzz at a nice, steady level.
